On 6 September, Bulgarian Sunday School “Izvor” – Antwerp opens its doors for the new 2026–2027 school year.
We look forward to welcoming our pupils, parents and friends of the school as we begin another year dedicated to the Bulgarian language, culture and traditions.
A new Bulgarian language course for adults at A1 level starts on 13 September 2026.
The course is designed for complete beginners who would like to take their first steps in learning Bulgarian.

On 10 October 2026, Izvor will welcome Stoyan Gospodinov, Artistic Director of the Dobrudzha Professional Folk Ensemble, and Kosta Kostov from Club 7/8 – Dobrich, for a special Bulgarian folk dance workshop in Antwerp.
An inspiring day of dancing, new steps and a chance to learn from two experienced teachers deeply connected to Bulgarian folklore.
We kick off the new season on 6 September 2026 at 14:00 with a festive Bulgarian folk dance rehearsal in Hoboken.
The 2026–2027 season runs from September 2026 to June 2027, with groups for different levels as well as a children’s group.

Join us for Antwerp’s first workshop dedicated to learning Bulgarian folk dances.
For this special event, we welcome Daria and Mitko Mihalkov – teachers, choreographers and passionate ambassadors of Bulgarian folklore. As brother and sister, they have dedicated their professional lives to Bulgarian dance and traditions, while their groups of children, young people and adults regularly present Bulgarian folklore at festivals and performances around the world.
No previous folk dance experience is required for Workshop 1.
During Workshop 2, we will dance not only what we learned earlier in the day, but also a selection of favourite Bulgarian dances – some familiar and some new. The aim is simple: to learn, dance and enjoy Bulgarian folklore together.
